A Kansas City man faces multiple felony charges in connection with fatal shooting of two victims on Sept. 18, 2024, near Maple Park in Kansas City, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Austin Stiles faces two counts of Murder in the 2nd Degree, two counts of Robbery in the 1st Degree and four counts of Armed Criminal Aciton.*
According to court documents, the defendant was certified to stand trial as an adult. On Sept. 18, 2024, officers were dispatched to 303 Maple Blvd. in Kansas City on a reported shooting. Officers located two victims in the street on Lexington Avenue, near Maple Park. They were next to a gray Chevy Sonic vehicle. Surveillance and cell phone video captured the shooting, which led detectives to this defendant. When interviewed, the defendant acknowledged his role in the shooting.
