A Kansas City man, 23, has been charged in connection with the Monday evening fatal shooting of another man during an a pre-arranged meeting at a parking lot, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Tyler D. Thompson faces 26 felony charges of Murder in the 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action charges.*
According to court records, Kansas City police officers were dispatched on Feb. 26, 2024 on a reported shooting. The found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds in a parking lot. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Spent shell casings were found near the victim and a vehicle. Evidence showed the defendant and another individual met with the victim and another man to complete a drug transaction. The defendant opened fire with a rifle, killing the victim.
