A Jackson County man will serve 27 years in prison after he entered guilty pleas Tuesday in two assault cases, one a shooting in Independence and the other a sexual assault in Kansas City, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Sean Quinn Jr., 21, entered guilty pleas in two criminal cases. In one case, Quinn was charged in a May 2022 sexual assault of a woman at gunpoint in Kansas City. He pleaded guilty to Sodomy in the 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Action and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. He pleaded guilty in a second case to Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Armed Criminal Action.
Quinn was sentenced to 27 years in the sex assault case and 22 years in the second case, filed in 2019. The sentences were set to run concurrently.
