Johnson County, Kan,, man, 26, charged in fatal shooting early Thursday of woman in Raytown, wounding of a second woman, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Travione Rogelio Batey Hernandez, dob: 1/23/1995, faces charges of Murder 2nd Degree, Assault 1st Degree and two counts of Armed Criminal Action.*
According to court records filed today, Raytown police were dispatched to apartments in the area of the 9000 block of East 87th Street in Raytown, MO, on a report of shots fired. At the scene, police found two victims, including Penny Medina, who would later die at the hospital. A second victim told police that the defendant, who was Medina's boyfriend, shot Medina before he beat and shot her.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $500,000.
