A Jackson County jury late Tuesday convicted Gustavo Ramos, 29, of the felony of Child Molestation involving a then-5-year-old child, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
The jury convicted Ramos, dob: 7/15/1993, of Child Molestation in the 1st Degree. The jury recommended a prison sentence of 17 years. A judge will sentence the defendant at a future hearing yet to be set.
According to court records, an individual reported to Kansas City police in July 2020 that the defendant had touching the child in a Kansas City residence. A forensic interview of the victim corroborated that the defendant had inappropriately touched the victim's private parts. Other witnesses told police that the victim had also disclosed to them the activity..
Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys Crispin Rea and Beth Youngworth prosecuted the case on behalf of the state of Missouri.
