A Kansas City has pleaded guilty to multiple felony counts related to a December 2016 home invasion in the Waldo area of Kansas City, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Mustafa R. Ali, dob: 7/28/1996, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to Robbery 2nd Degree, Assault 2nd Degree and two counts of Armed Criminal Action. He was sentenced to 9 years on the Robbery, 7 years on the Assault and 3 years on the Armed Criminal Action convictions. All sentences are to run concurrently.
According to court records, the victim told police that he was in his home playing video games when Ali entered the room and began putting the victim's belongings in a bag. They scuffled and the defendant pulled a gun and pistol whipped and shot the victim. Ali reported that expensive shoes and clothing were stolen during the robbery as well.
