A 24-year-old Lee's Summit man has been charged in the fatal shooting of his brother on Wednesday in a Lee's Summit residence, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Lawrence E. Barr, dob: 1/6/1992, faces Involuntary Manslaughter in the 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action charges.*
According to court records filed today, the defendant told Lee's Summit Police detectives that he accidentally shot his brother as his brother was in the bathroom of a Lee's Summit residence on NE Magellan Wednesday. The victim was with his two-year-old son and they were brushing their teeth when Barr shot his brother. Barr then left the residence, disposed of the handgun and returned home.
Prosecutors have requested a $100,000 bond.
