A 17-year-old Kansas City suspect has been charged in connection with the shooting Thursday night into a group of other teens, wounding a Raytown youth, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Adrian D. Theus, dob: 11/30/1998, faces the charges of Assault in the 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action.*
According to court documents filed early today, witnesses followed a vehicle involved in a shooting in the 9700 block of E. 65th Terrace in Raytown. After fleeing police, the vehicle eventually was stopped in Kansas City after running over some stopsticks. Five males fled the vehicle. Two were captured, including the defendant. Witnesses told police Theus was one of two shooters in Raytown. The defendant told police he fired into a crowd because of an on-going feud between the two groups.
The case remains under investigation by Raytown police.
