The two suspects charged in the robbery Wednesday at 36th and Delaware in Independence now also face the additional felony charge of Assault for injuries to a police officer, while two additional suspects also face charges in connection with the robbery, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Joseph E. Wyatt, dob: 1/7/1989, and Ronar Santiago-Torres, dob: 4/14/1989, now also face the Class A felony of Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, according to a new criminal complaint amended today. Earlier, they each were charged with Robbery 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Action, Burglary 1st Degree and Kidnapping.*
In addition, two others have been charged in connection with the Wednesday robbery.
James McChan, dob: 7/2/1960, and Donald Nussbaum, dob: 5/22/1965, face Robbery 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Action, Burglary 1st Degree and Kidnapping charges for acting in concert with others.*
According to court documents filed today, McChan and Nussbaum took Wyatt and Santiago-Torres to the residence that they robbed near 36th and South Delaware. Nussbaum admitted to driving the suspects to the area knowing they planned to rob someone. McChan also told police he dropped off Santiago-Torres and Wyatt a few blocks from the victim's residence.
Prosecutors requested $500,000 bonds for each new defendant.
