Caleb Patterson, dob: 1/21/1998, pleaded guilty on Tuesday and was sentenced to 24 years in prison for the murder conviction. He was sentenced to 15 years on each of those two convictions. Those sentences were set to run concurrently to the 24-year sentence.
According to court records, police found Marin's body in the 1200 block of Admiral Blvd. on the morning of Jan. 16, 2017. He had suffered multiple blunt force injuries. The Medical Examiner ruled his death a homicide. On jail house recordings, Patterson described that "it started out as a simple fight, but then after, it felt good to let some anger out, you know I just couldn't stop hitting him. Patterson took another witness to the scene and showed them the victim's body and admitted killing him.
