A Jackson County jury late Friday convicted a Grandview man of two counts of manslaughter in connection with house fire in September 2014 that killed his 14-month-old daughter and an adult friend, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced tonight.
Stephen D. Elijah, 35, was convicted of two counts of involuntary manslaughter and two counts endangering the welfare of a child in the 2nd Degree. He was acquitted of Arson by jurors, who deliberated more than seven hours Friday.
