A Kansas City man has been charged in the Friday evening fatal shooting at a convenience store at 10th and Blue Ridge in south Kansas City, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Theodist A. Lewis, dob: 9/24/1986, faces Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action.*
According to court records, a witness picked the defendant from a photo lineup and tips to police, following the release of a video image from the night of the crime in south Kansas City, led police to a Kansas City residence where they found the defendant hiding in a closet. The suspect was wearing clothing that matched the clothing of the suspect in the video image. Blood was found on the clothing.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $250,000 cash.
