An Independence man has been charged in connection with a double homicide earlier this week in an Independence residence, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Terrill S. Anderson faces charges of Murder 2nd Degree, Armed Criminal Action, Voluntary Manslaughter and Armed Criminal Action.*
According to court records, Independence police officers responded on Oct. 29, about 10:30 p.m., to an Independence residence on a call of "shots fired." The caller stated that her husband had shot her two sons. Police found both victims on the floor of the kitchen. Surveillance video showed the defendant in disputes with the victims. The victims were shot multiple times, some shots fired while they were on the ground. Neither appeared to pose a threat to the defendant.
