A Kansas City man has been charged in connection with the robberies of one food delivery driver and four taxi cab drivers called to residences in Kansas City, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Larentez D. Gravely, dob: 8/20/199, faces five counts of Robbery 1st Degree and five counts of Armed Criminal Action.*
According to court records filed today, the Kansas City Police Department's robbery unit has investigated several armed robberies involving Z-Trip taxi cabs and food delivery drivers. In each case, several suspects armed with a gun or a knife ordered a taxi or food and then robbed the victims of their vehicles and personal items. Several of these incidents were captured on interior surveillance video in the cabs. The first incident was in August 2018, followed by several other incidents in October. In one incident in the 2000 block of Park Tower, the defendant is shown pointing an assault rifle at the vicitim. When shown video of the incident on Park, the defendant admitted being present during the robbery and pointing a rifle at the victim. When asked about the other robberies he also admitted to being an active participant in them.
Two other co-defendants have already been charged.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $200,000/10 percent.
