A 59-year-old Kansas City man has been charged in the fatal shooting on Thursday of Leslie Taylor in Blue Hills Park after a reported argument, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Timothy Green, dob: 12/15/1962, faces Murder 2nd Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Armed Criminal Action charges.*
According to court records filed today, Kansas City police were dispatched on Aug. 18, 2022, to the area of 53rd and Brooklyn Avenue in Blue Hills Park on a reported shooting. Officers found the victim, later identified as Leslie Taylor. He was deceased from a gunshot. Witnesses told police they saw the defendant shoot the victim. One witness stated the victim and defendant had been in an argument over money. The defendant told police that the victim had been following and harassing him for weeks. A witness told police the victim was not known to charry a gun.
Prosecutors requested a $250,000 cash bond.
