A 23-year-old Kansas City man has been charged in the double fatal shooting at 68th and Walrond in Kansas City on April 1, 2021, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Michael L. Gilmore, dob: 2/23/1998, faces two counts of Murder 2nd Degree and two counts of Armed Criminal Action in connection with the fatal shootings of Joshua Gilmore-Harris and Mia Sheridan on April 1.*
According to court records, Kansas City police officers were called on April 1, 2021, to 68th and Walrond Avenue in Kansas City on a reported shooting. They found a black vehicle that had come to a stop against a rock wall. Inside, they found two victims inside. Witnesses told police that the defendant had recently been with the victims. A witness told police that the defendant had stated he shot the two victims after an argument in the vehicle.
A Jackson County judge today ordered a $500,000 bond.
