A 31-year-old Kansas City man faces felony charges in connection with the attempted rape of a woman patient who was in her hospital room when she was assaulted, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Elisha Beraiah, dob: 10/7/1990, faced Attempted Rape 1st Degree and Sodomy 1st Degree.*
According to court records filed late Friday, Kansas City police responded on Feb. 17, 2022, to University Health Medical Center on Holmes Street in Kansas City and talked to the victim who said the defendant had sexually assaulted her while she was in her hospital room bed. A hospital staff member told police she had gone to the victim's room and observed the defendant in bed with the woman patient, who is visually impaired. The defendant had his pants down.
Prosecutors requested the defendant be held on no bond.
