A Kansas City 18-year-old man faces multiple felony counts in connection with the Aug. 27 fatal shooting fo Issac Brown near 26th and Lockridge in Kansas City, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Taylor Mackey, dob: 5/14/2001, faces Murder 2nd Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and two counts of Armed Criminal Action.*
According to court records filed today, Mackey told detectives of the Kansas City Police Department that he and his younger brother stated they saw the victim near Prospect and 28th Street, walked along with him and turned east on Lockridge. Mackey told police he believed the victim was responsible for a prior shooting of his brother and he wanted the victim to feel the same pain his brother had felt. After they approached the victim, they both pulled out guns and shot him once.
Prosecutors have requested a bond of $300,000 cash.
