A Kansas City man, 54, faces felony charges for the fatal shooting of his son in a Kansas City residence earlier this month, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Jose P. Pilar, dob: 8/9/1968, faces Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action charges.*
According to court records, Kansas City police were dispatched to the 1800 block of Cambridge Avenue in KC on a reported shooting. The caling party said "Raul was shot by father. Witnesses told police that the victim, Raul Pilar Sanchez, and the defendant, his father, argued over a family friend coming over to visit. The defendant left the residence and soon after a family member found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Family members told police their father shot their brother.
This case was filed under seal, which has now been removed.
