A third Kansas City man faces charges related to the fatal shooting on Aug. 23, 2021 of a woman who was found in an overturned vehicle in the area of Independence Avenue and the Paseo, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Latrell Muldrew-Golston, dob: 10/20/2000, faces Murder 2nd Degree.*
Two others have been charged in this homicide, according to court records. Kansas City police responded on Aug. 23, 2021 to Independence Avenue in Kansas City's northeast area on a reported shooting and a subsequent vehicular accident. A female driver, Randie Smith, was pronounced deceased at the scene. She had wounds to her wrist and chest. The Jackson County Medical Examiner's Office ruled her death a homicide. During the investigation, detectives recovered 9 mm shell casings from the parking lot of the gas station. Detectives learned that the victim had posted a PlayStation 4 gaming console for sale on Facebook Marketplace.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $150,000 cash for Mulddrew-Golston.
