A Kansas City man charged in the Nov. 1 fatal shooting of Dustin Harris, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Michael T. Lomax, dob: 3/2/1969, faces Murder 2nd Degree, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Armed Criminal Action.*
According to court records, Kansas City police responded to the 3500 block of Lexington on a reported shooting and found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Witnesses told police of a planned drug purchase involving the suspect and the victim. A witness told police that they saw a man, later identified as the defendant, pull from his coat pocket a hand at about the same time he heard a loud bang. The victim was shot in the chest.
Prosecutors requested a $250,000 bond.
