A Kansas City man, 26, has been charged in connection with the Dec 13, 2021, fatal shooting of Corey A. Haley in Kansas City, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Roy Justin Puls, dob: 6/10/1995, faces Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action charges.*
According to court records, Kansas City police were dispatched to a reported shooting in the 2000 block of East 83rd Street early on Dec. 13, 2021. They learned the victim was transported by private vehicle to Research Medical Center. The victim was later pronounced deceased and the Jackson County Medical Examiner ruled the shooting a homicide caused by multiple gunshots. Video surveillance showed the defendant at the residence and standing outside the vehicle. The defendant can be seen standing when a muzzle flash is seen. The victim falls and clutches his chest and the defendant leaves the scene.
Prosecutors requested a cash bond of $250,000.
