Jackson County Prosecutor Melesa Johnson today announced felony charges against a woman in connection with a fatal shooting that killed a teenage girl earlier this month.
Bailey Lewis faces 2nd Degree Felony Murder, three counts of Accessory Armed Criminal Action, and two counts of Accessory Unlawful Use of a Weapon. *
According to court records, Kansas City police were dispatched to the 3600 block of Norton Avenue on August 9 regarding a shooting. They located a juvenile female in the bathroom suffering from a gunshot wound to her throat. She was transported to a hospital where she died.
Witnesses reported hearing sounds of gunshots and observed projectiles entering the home through the front door and living room wall and window area.

She is being held on a $400,000 cash bond.
*Charges are only accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until the defendant is either found guilty or pleads guilty.
