A 25-year-old Kansas City man, a felon convicted of robbery in 2008, has been charged in a weekend morning coffee shop robbery in midtown Kansas City, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Terrance L. Wesley, dob: 7/15/1991, faces Robbery in the 1st Degree, two counts of Armed Criminal Action, Attempted Robbery in the 1st Degree and two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.*
According to court records, Wesley approached some people sitting outside a coffee shop in the 2900 block of McGee, pointed a black handgun at them and took a wallet from one person. He attempted to a take a purse from another victim. He ran to a nearby car, then sped away. Photos taken of his vehicle, and its license plate, allowed police to find Wesley at his home address. Police found a black handgun in his vehicle.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $100,000.
