A Jackson County jury has convicted an Independence man, 36, of multiple child-sex charges related to sexual abuse of children 11- and 12-years old, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
The jury late Friday convicted Glenn M. McGinnis, dob: 10/8/1985, of five counts of Statutory Sodomy 1st Degree, Attempted Statutory Rape 1st Degree, Attempted Statutory Rape First Degree, two counts of Statutory Rape 2nd Degree.*
The defendant will be sentenced by a Jackson County judge on June 10.
According to court records, child victims told forensic interviewers at the Child Protection Center that the defendant had touched their private areas. A second victim, 12, disclosed to Children's Division investigators that the defendant had touched her inappropriately.
Assistant Jackson County Prosecutors Arthur Bridgens and Kelly Collins prosecuted the case on behalf of the state of Missouri.
