A Kansas City man has been charged in the fatal shooting of a man in the front yard of a Kansas City residence following an argument, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Justyn Reedus faces Murder in the 2nd Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and two counts of Armed Criminal Action charges.*
According to court records, officers were dispatched to the crime scene on May 31, 2024. The found the victim in the front yard of a residence. The victim later died of his wounds. Witnesses reported that the victim and the suspect had been engaged in an argument that started inside the house. The argument continued outside. A video of the shooting obtained by detectives showed the suspect pulling a pistol, shoving the victim off the porch and firing multiple shots.
The defendant is being held on a $200,000 cash bond.
