A 44-year-old Higginsville man faces two counts of Murder 1st Degree and other charges for the fatal shooting last Sunday in Independence of Billy M. Davis and Ashley D. Walker, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Steven B. Turner Jr., dob: 8/19/1976, faces two counts of Murder 1st Degree and two counts of Armed Criminal Action.*
According to court records filed today, Turner admitted to Independence police detectives that he knowingly shot into a Jeep Renegade SUV parked behind a residence in Independence, shooting until his gun was empty. He killed both victims Billy M. Davis and Ashley D. Walker inside the vehicle.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $300,000 cash.
