A Kansas City man has been charged with multiple felony counts in connection with the Friday homicide of Steven Thompson and the shooting of another person, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Gabriel D. English, dob: 11/3/1984, faces Murder 2nd Degree, Assault 1st Degree and two counts of Armed Criminal Action.*
According to court records, police responded to the 400 block of Colorado Avenue in Kansas City in the early morning of April 14, 2017. Police found a shooting victim who identified his shooter as "Gabe." Officers found Thompson, the other victim, lying in the grass near the residence's front porch. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police traced English to the 6400 block of Blue Ridge Blvd., where he was taken into custody. The police investigation also found a Glock 17, 9mm, n the vehicle that English was in at 6400 and Blue Ridge. The rounds found in the weapon matched the head stamps and shell casings found at the homicide scene.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $350,000.
