A Jackson County jury today convicted Christopher P. Taylor in the October 2016 fatal shooting on Sterling Avenue in Independence after an apparent road rage incident, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
The jury convicted Taylor of Involuntary Manslaughter 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action.
Taylor will be sentenced on Aug. 24, 2018.
According to court records, the victim, Whitney Gray, was found in her vehicle on Sterling Avenue after what appeared to be a road rage incident began near Sterling and 23rd Avenue involving a vehicle driven by Taylor.
Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys Michael Hunt and Gunner Sumy prosecuted the case on behalf of the state of Missouri.
