A Jackson County judge Friday sentenced Joshua Randolph to 45 years in prison for the fatal shooting of Justin J. Bultler in August 2015, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Joshua Randolph, dob: 11/18/1980, was convicted in September by a Jackson County jury of Murder 2nd Degree, Assault 1st Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and three counts of Armed Criminal Action.
On Friday, a Jackson County judge sentenced Randolph to 30 years in prison on each of the Murder 2, Unlawful Use of A Weapon and Assault 1st Degree convictions, running all sentences concurrently. He also sentenced Randolph to 15 years on each Armed Criminal Action conviction, running all ACA sentences concurrently. He ordered that those would run consecutively to the 30-year sentences. In total, Randolph was sentenced to 45 years in prison.
According to court records, Kansas City police were dispatched to the 3400 block of Park Avenue in Kansas City on a shots-fired call. They found three victims wounded by gunshots. One of those victims was pronounced deceased at the scene. Several spent shell casings were found in the area and a silver driver's side mirror was found in the street.The mirror matched damage to a vehicle connected to the defendant and a relative. Surviving victims of the crimes identified the defendant as one of the persons shooting into the residence on Park.
Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys Jeremy Baldwin and Crispin Rea prosecuted the case on behalf of the state of Missouri.
