A 20-year-old Kansas City man has been charged in the fatal beating and stomping of Juan Marin, whose body was found on Jan. 16, 2017 on Admiral Blvd, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Caleb B. Patterson, dob: 1/21/1998, faces Murder 1st Degree.
According to court records, Kansas City police responded on the morning of Jan. 16, 2017 to the 1200 block of Admiral Blvd on an ambulance call. Officers found the victim, later identified as Juan Marin. He showed signs of multiple blunt force injuries. In September 2017, Patterson was discovered to be talking on a recorded jail telephone system and describing why he "couldn't stop hitting" the victim because "it felt good to let some anger out." A witness told police that Patterson also took him to the scene of the murder and showed the body of the victim. He told that witness he killed the victim.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $300,000.
