Anton L. Hunter, 21, pleaded guilty today to fatally shooting Isabell Addison, who was a traffic signal in a vehicle at Blue Parkway and Cleveland when she was shot in 2017, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Hunter, dob: 7/21/1998, pleaded guilty to Murder 2nd Degree, two counts of Armed Criminal Action, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and the misdemeanor count of Failure to Report a Shooting.*
Hunter will be sentenced on Sept. 27 at 10 a.m in Div. 10. As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors will seek up to 25 years in prison for those convictions.
According to court records, on April 30, 2017, Kansas City police were dispatched to the area of Swope Parkway and Benton on a reported shooting. A witness to the shooting told police that the defendant was a passenger in a vehicle that pulled up beside the victim's car and fired shots.
