A Blue Springs man faces multiple felonies in connection with alleged sexual acts with a then 16-year-old student in 2005, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
James R. Green, dob: 11/3/1964, faces six felony counts of Statutory Sodomy 2nd Degree.*
According to court records, a now 27-year-old man has reported that as a 16-year-old student in the Northland he was sexually assaulted on multiple occasions at the defendant's Blue Springs home. These incidents occurred in 2005 when the victim was 16 and a student in Smithville. The victim said he met the defendant, then a Blue Springs teacher and coach, in an internet chat room. Blue Springs police also interviewed a 16-year-old Blue Springs student who said he also had sexual relations with the defendant in recent months in Blue Springs. The defendant during that time was a middle school teacher and coach in North Kansas City.
Prosecutors requested a $100,000 bond.
The case remains under investigation.
