The Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office has set up a temporary office for its Downtown Kansas City attorneys and support staff inside Kansas City Police Department headquarters’ Community Room.
“We greatly appreciate KCPD extending a hand to help us during the shutdown of the Courthouse. It is vital that the prosecutors and staff have a secure location to work in.” said Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker.
The public should know that the main phone line of the prosecutor’s office, (816) 881-3555, is being monitored and answered at another location during work hours.
Prosecutors and support staff began gathering at the new space on Tuesday morning. Other space has been secured for depositions and schedules for court appearances and other proceedings were being coordinated with the Jackson County Court.
