A Kansas City man has been charged in the murder Saturday evening of his 57-year-old sister, who was stabbed repeatedly, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Michael L. Mathews, dob: 11/3/1966, faces Murder in the 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action.*
According to court records, witnesses told police that the victim had been in an argument with her brother, the defendant, on the porch of the residence in the 5500 block of Paloma. She was refusing to share drugs with him. Another witness reported hearing the defendant say, "I'm so tired of you bitch," then repeatedly stabbed the victim.
Prosecutors have requested a bond of $250,000.
