According to court records, the victim was shot twice while sitting in his vehicle and the shooting was captured on video. Shortly after the shooting the Defendant entered the residence and told his girlfriend that the victim got what he deserved. Blood was apparent on the defendant's clothing, a witness told police. The defendant then moved the victim's vehicle and set it on fire with the victim's body inside. He went to New Mexico and changed his phone. Testing of the defendant's vehicle found very strong support that the victim's DNA was on fingermarks found on the edge of the defendant's vehicle door on the driver's side.
Defendant was recently taken into custody. Prosecutors requested a $250,000 cash bond.
