The Jackson County Prosecutor's Office will hold another in its continuing series of counseling sessions on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024, at CPC (Child Protection Center) from 3 to 6 p.m., Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
The prosecutor's office also maintains a hotline number for persons who want to call and talk to someone. The hotline number is 816-881-1540.
CPC is located at 2940 Main Street in Kansas City. Mental health professionals and advocates will be available for persons who come to CPC. The center specializes in helping children.
The prosecutor's office initiated these counseling sessions last week in the wake of the shootings at Union Station following the rally and parade last Wednesday, Feb. 14. Since then, numerous churches, non-profit service providers and staff from the prosecutor's office have joined to help to bring counseling and some comfort to persons impacted emotionally by the tragic violence at the public event. The prosecutor's office extends its gratitude to all who have helped make these sessions valuable.
