A Jackson County jury on Monday convicted Anthony Walker of three counts of Murder 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Action and Burglary, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
In January 2012, according to court records, Kansas City police found the body of Edward Williams outside a residence near 39th and The Paseo. The bodies of Herschel and Donna Pike were found in a nearby residence. All had died of gunshot wounds. The last two calls to a victim's phone were from Anthony Walker. An undercover police officer later purchased from the defendant the murder weapon. Further testing found the DNA of one victim. Crime scene investigators matched impressions from the shoes being worn by the defendant at the time he was arrested.
Walker, who is serving 30 years on a federal conviction of unlawful possession of a firearm, will be sentenced at a future date.
Assistant Prosecutors Jeremy Baldwin and Ashleigh Ragner prosecuted the case on behalf of the state of Missouri.
