A 29-year-old Kansas City man has been charged in the fatal shooting of Corey Robinson on July 9, 2019, in a park near 57th and McGee in Kansas City, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Jonathan D. Campbell, dob: 2/25/1991, faces Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action charges.*
According to court records, Kansas City police were dispatched on July 9, 209 to the area of 57th and McGee and found the deceased victim at the scene. Numerous 10 mm shell casings were found near the body as well as two shotgun rounds. Surveillance video revealed a suspect video, a dark SUV. Phone records
revealed that the last text and phone exchanges with the victim were from an individual identified to be the defendant. The Kansas City Crime Lab found DNA likely belonging to the defendant on the two shotgun rounds
Prosecutors requested a $250,000 bond.
