A 19-year-old Independence man has been charged in the Oct. 30 fatal shooting of Jacobsen L. Laumoli at an Independence residence, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Travon M. Williams faces Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action charges.*
According to court records filed today, Williams took a gun belonging to a homeowner at the residence where a party was taking place and fired the weapon at the front door, striking the victim in the back. Several witnesses saw the defendant, who they knew as Trace, fire the shots.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $300,000.
