Bryant Robinson, dob: 11/25/1994, faces Murder 2nd Degree,Assault 1st Degree, two counts of Armed Criminal Action.*
According to court records, Kansas City police officers were dispatched to the area of 63rd and Manchester on a reported shooting. Two victims were located inside a vehicle. Michael Garrett, dob: 4/29/1978, died as a result of the gunshot, while a female driver was injured; she was transported to the hospital. Witnesses said a silver Dodge Ram pickup was behind the victims' vehicle on 63rd Street when a rifle was observed sticking out of the Dodge pickup. Someone fired numerous times. Surveillance video showed the victims' vehicle being followed by the Dodge truck, which was distinctive because of a wheel chair in the truck's bed. License plates on the truck were linked to Enterprise Rental, which informed police that the truck was rented by the defendant. The defendant, records showed, was the victim of a shooting that left him paralyzed from the chest down and in need of a wheel chair. The victim, Garrett, was a suspect in that shooting but was not pursued because the defendant declined to cooperate.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $150,000 cash.
