Two Blue Springs men have been charged in the Friday fatal shooting and attempted robbery of Jack Price in Blue Springs, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Triston D. Withers, dob: 7/31/1998, of Blue Springs and Daquan M. Tolefree, dob: 10221997, face Murder 2nd Degree, Attempted Robbery and two counts of Armed Criminal Action.*
According to court records, when Blue Springs Police responded to the scene of a reported shooting in the 100 block of NW Vesper St. in Blue Springs, they found 18-year-old Jack T. Price suffering from gun shot wounds. He was transported to an area hospital, where he died. Witnesses told police that two men in ski masks came in and they pointed a gun at one person's head. Someone yelled at the victim to get a gun and one of the two men in masks shot Price. A witness identified one of the suspects at Triston D. Withers. During a search of the crime scene, shell casings a cell phone were located on the back deck, where the suspects left the residence. The phone number of the cell phone came back to Withers. Tolefree told police he was with Withers at the residenc eon NW Vesterp when he saw Withers shoot a guy standing in front of his girlfriend. Then they ran out.
Prosecutors requested $150,000 bonds on each defendant.
