A Lee's Summit man has been charged after he drove drunk into the City of Lee's Summit's police headquarters building, causing more than $750 damage, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Estakio J. Alfons, dob: 6/24/1975, faces Property Damage 1st Degree, a Class D felony, and the misdemanor count of Driving While Intoxicated.*
According to court records, the defendant drove this monring into the front parking lot of the Lee's Summit Police Department building and stopped his Jeep facing the front of teh building before he accelerated and drove between two rock barriers. He struck the building, breaking glass and damaging the structure. He drove back into the building. He reversed the Jeep and was confronted by officers who exited the building. They detected the odor of alcohol and the defendant's breath was sampled, showing an excessive Blood Alcohol Concentration of .179.
Prosecutors requested a $10,000/10 percent bond.
