A Kansas City man has been charged in several recent Midtown KC crimes, including rape, kidnapping and robbery, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
D'Maryon D. Odums, dob: 2/9/1994, faces 17 felony counts: Kidnapping, two counts of Robbery 1st Degree, Rape 1st Degree, three counts of Sodomy 1st Degree, Sexual Assault 1st Degree, Burglary 1st Degree and eight counts of Armed Criminal Action.*
According to court records, a woman victim told Kansas City police on Feb. 3, 2017, that she had been kidnapped, robbed and raped by a man armed with a knife in the area of 39th and Harrison. DNA testing of evidence from the victim matched Odums. In late January, another robbery victim from the same area tentatively identified Odums as the man who entered her home and robbed her at gunpoint.
Prosecutors requested a $500,000 cash bond.
