A father and son have been charged in connection with a shooting in the area of 34th and Wyoming after the two men tracked a missing vehicle to that location, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Charles Harrison Jr. and Charles Harrison Sr. face charges in connection with the shooting. The younger Harrison faces Assault 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Action and Unlawful Use of a Weapon, while the older Harrison faces Assault 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action charges.
According to court records filed, Kansas City Police Department officers were dispatched on a reported shooting. Officers soon located a victim on the ground. One victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Harrison Jr. stated he was tracking a vehicle that had been reported stolen in Raytown. He had tracked it to the area of 34th and Wyoming, he said. He and his father drove there in a black Toyota. Video showed that vehicle accelerating toward the victim and shots were fired.
This case remains under investigation.
