An Illinois man has been charged with a felony after he threatened on social media to shoot others at a concert Friday night at Arrowhead in Kansas City, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Aaron Brown of Winchester, Ill, faces a Class E felony of Making a Terroristic Threat in the 2nd Degree.*
According to court records, Kansas City police officers were dispatched to the residence and found the victim's sister outside, with a neighbor. They informed officers that a shooting victim was inside with the defendant. Officers entered the house through a window, knowing the victim was inside suffering from gunshot. Officers found the victim and got her out of the residence through the window. She was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. A witness told police she was talking to the victim when the defendant shot the victim. The witness disarmed the defendant, ran out of the house and called police. Police initiated an Operation 100 and officers later located the defendant in the basement.
Prosecutors requested a $250,000 cash bond.
