Two other Kansas City men have been charged in the fatal slaying on March 28, 2016, of Demar Swift in the area of 18th and Topping, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Lyrick T. Bryson, 17 (dob: 7/24/1998), and Demarcus T. Rivers, 20 (dob:3/28/1996), each face Murder in the 2nd Degree, Attempted Robbery in the 1st Degree and two counts of Armed Criminal Action.*
Martinez C. Lewis, 20, was earlier charged with the same felonies in connection with Swift’s fatal shooting. According to court records, the men tried to rob the victim during a drug deal when Swift was fatally wounded.
Prosecutors have requested a bond of $250,000 cash for Bryson and Rivers.
