Felony criminal charges have been filed against the driver of a vehicle involved in a traffic accident that injured a passenger in his vehicle, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Jestin L. Waterhouse, 1/28/1980, faces Assault 2nd Degree and Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident.*
According to court records, about three hours into this new year, Kansas City police were dispatched to Independence Avenue and Elmwood on a reported injury accident and found a vehicle that had collided with a building on Independence Avenue, as well as a utility police. A woman passenger in the vehicle was unconscious. Several witnesses told police that the driver exited the vehicle following the crash and walked away. After police found a photo of the defendant, a witness identified him as the driver. The passenger remains in critical condition.
Prosecutors have requested a bond of $250,000/10 percent.
